Yesterday, I went to Rancho Cucomunga with a friend to make a delivery for work. We left at 5:30 am. That means I need to be up by 4 so I can do all my morning things before I leave. It's just the way I roll. After the delivery...we went out for breakfast and a nice ride through the mountains. It was excellent to see some leaves turning colors. So nice to walk around in the woods and the chilly air.
To look at all the different kinds of pine trees along the crest of the mountain...so peaceful.
An Elm leaf. A capless acorn among the pine needles and pine cone pieces. Debris of Fall. Time to start eating soup, root vegetables and Winter squash. All the comfort foods.
Look what I found. A practical use for a chunk of wood. AND, some skills with a chain saw. Wonder if it were a fireman who needed a place to sit...
See how the rocks anchor the trees in this wash? I would think that would help keep them from washing away in the Spring when the snow melts.
For me...being out in all this beauty, reminds me how much I have missed doing this very thing. I hope to do it again real soon. Then I got to go down and pick Sis up at the airport. She will be here till the 30th. AND will be a great help to me during my 'busy season'. Perfect timing! She is waiting for me now to go shopping for food and other wonders. I WILL check back later today. I need to take more pictures first.
