These racks may not stay here. I am still debating with myself. We will see how well they work.
Last year, I bought a bunch of these trays for 99 cents. I have recycled an old ladder from a pool to use as a rack, by placing refrigerator racks on the steps. It holds five trays. So does the rack I still need to plant.
I planted some dill, cilantro, San Marsano tomatoes (like Romas), Brussel Sprouts, and Collard greens. I still want to plant some cauliflower, kale, spaghetti squash, Armenian cucumbers, and a few other Late Summer crops (July).
Once they get planted in the ground, I can start the cabbages, lettuce, peas, and my cooler season plants.
This is wrapped in plastic like a greenhouse to keep the wind from drying out my shallow trays and blowing my potting mix away. I put them close to the house so I can pay closer attention to them. I have a sprayer I can stick inside and spray without taking the plastic off...I hope.
Lets see how all this works out. It works well in my head...but I am an optimist.
