This is a shot I took last month. I am having trouble with my computer again. Seems I have a virus I can't get rid of. I think I figured it out, though. There are some 'contacts' that are at the end of the 'list' that don't have a folder. I can't figure out how to delete them. Something to bring up to the computer genius.
Lately...I have been busy doing some work away from home. It makes it real hard to come home and post. It is my poor web-site that is suffering. Not to mention the virus. Anyway...it has been an adventure.
I spend a lot of time trying to keep the house heated. Two fireplaces. Or a fireplace and a wood-burning stove...actually. It means I spend a lot of time dragging wood. It is just the way it is. At my house, I take heat for granted. Not anymore! As things are going, I would say it is busy. I am working on starting seeds and preparing garden spaces. Today I was helping Farmer J with a pile of orchard trimmings.
Not to mention some research I have been doing. Someone gave me a new web-site to check out. Permies.com I found it very interesting. Especially on how to care for chickens and make money at it by saving on the cost of feed. It is all about the chickens happiness, too. I guess happy chickens taste better.
There were also these raised beds for gardens called hugelkultur. They use old tree trunks and sticks and leaves and such with dirt piled on it to make the beds. Seems very 'green' to me. I am thinking it may be a good idea to try since I have most of the stuff I would need to make one. It is supposed to be good in the desert and uses little or no water...I would be happy with less water. Just an idea. I am all for experiments.
