Still At It 07/05/2011
Farmer J and I worked in my yard this weekend. He helped me clean up a lot of mess back here. He brought his weed eater and helped me move piles of stuff I already raked up. I also raked up the 'ditches' around my beds. That way I can fill the beds with more water than before because the edges are higher. That way I am not watering the walkways. I love how big my plants are getting. Also...I put some worm tea on this garden, except for the corn...I ran out. Another thing we did was move a bunch of rocks. He is helping his family build a fence with rocks and had been getting them in the 'wash'. The ones that were too small for the fence has been going to under the shed to help keep the dogs from digging out. This rock pile is taking up a lot of valuable real estate in my new garden area. In another section of garden area I pulled up the peas because they were done. I saved them so I can pick out the peas to plant for next year. I love that the rocks are leaving this area. I moved back in this house in 2003 and have been avoiding moving this pile. It has been here for at least 16 years. The big rocks are getting moved to here. I think it looks very nice. Two other things happened this weekend. It rained, pretty hard. AND...the air conditioner broke. This morning it was 69 degrees outside and 80 in the house...with the windows open. I guess we will see what the repair man says. Oh! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend. I couldn't be happier. I got my yard cleaned up enough so I won't be embarrassed when people come to see my garden. It is sort of like Field of Dreams...'If you build it, they will come'. It is my dream...welcome to it! ******************************************************************************* Add Comment |
