Today I started to plant my garden! I am so happy to get some tomatoes in the dirt! I had looked for fish heads...but with no luck. So I bought fish emulsion, which needs to be mixed with water. THAT...is what is in these two plastic jugs. You can also see that I have leveled out the bed.
This white grocery bag has the crushed egg shells I have been saving just to plant the tomatoes.
I also used this organic fertilizer, two handfuls, and one of the bone meal. The other organic fertilizer I used was worm compost. I big handful right in the hole.
The recipe called for two aspirin per plant, so in they went.
This is what it looked like afterwords. They said 2-3 feet apart.
As I was out and about today, I found some whole fish for 99 cents a pound. So I bought several packs. When I plant the next batch of tomatoes, they will have fish, not the emulsion. I might even try to get a few fish close to these planted ones.
I will take pictures and show you how I do this next batch. I was just in a hurry to get them in the dirt.
