Our First Big Pest This Year 06/30/2011
 I found my first little pest on the tomato plants. A tomato horn worm. I pulled the whole leaf off and looked real hard, but couldn't find any more of these. This particular one is not that big. But even at this size they can do a lot of damage. That is why I looked real hard to find more. When I pick them off I usually use some tongs from the kitchen. That way I don't have to touch them. How nasty! I just throw them out on the dirt in the sun. That way I am sure SOMETHING will get it. The Sun. Ants. Birds. They usually only come out in the early morning or late evening, to stay out of the Sun. I have been blessed with Mocking birds that keep me horn worm free. Most of the time.
